Gabriel Benaim, “Gordon High School”
We were very interested to receive an invitation from the leading fine art photography gallery in Philadelphia, Gallery 339, concerning a new exhibit of emerging talent entitled “In Review”. After visiting the website and viewing the assembled images selected from ten artists, the impact of this collection makes this exhibit a must see as the summer gallery season kicks off.
The photos range from color to Black and White, prices that are very reasonable and a selection of work that is high quality. Now is an opportune time to invest in these up and coming talents.
We couldn’t help but notice, one of our picks for best of Houston Fotofest portfolio review, Gabriel Benaim, is among the artists represented.
This show looks to be a winner as well:
Over the past six months, Gallery 339 has had the opportunity to participate in a series of portfolio review sessions, which introduced us to the work of many artists from around the world. The work that we saw suggested a dynamic and inventive landscape, where artists are making creative use of new and old technologies and are exploring ideas and subject matter that are both current and substantive. We, of course, are now applying our own filter to present an exhibition … ranging from Phillip Toledano’s compelling and unsettling explorations of beauty to Isa Leshko’s affecting portraits of older animals to Gabriel Benaim’s layered views of Tel Aviv. Collectively, the works of the ten artists in In Review suggest a medium that is engaged in a lively, complex, and intelligent dialogue about meaningful issues.
The Portfolio Review process is crucial for new but mature talent … with hundreds of participants, this is a good “ best of the best" sample collection.
The show begins today through September 4.
