This year’s Philly Photo Arts Center (PPAC) received over 1,500 submissions this year and as a part of the exhibition, the PPAC will produce as many as 60 works of public art. In conjunction with the city’s Mural Arts Program, teaching artists will collaborate with community center participants to design up to 20 of the city’s first digitally produced photo murals.
The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center is a community hub for contemporary photography. Devoted to the study, practice and appreciation of photography, PPAC organizes innovative exhibitions, inspiring artist lectures, diverse educational offerings and affordable access to high-end digital equipment for the production of work. Founded in 2009, PPAC is now a premiere resource for photographers and enthusiasts alike, and has flourished through its tremendous efforts towards outreach and community involvement.
