“’I’m interested in changing people’s ideas about the use of color in photography,’ John Rohrbach explained. That was the impetus for ‘Color!’—the exhibition he put together at the Amon Carter Museum, where he is the senior curator of photographs. ‘Color!’ includes 75 photographs by 75 photographers that range in date from Levi L. Hill’s c. 1851 Hillotype to dye-coupler and inkjet prints by Alex Prager, Katy Grannan and Trevor Paglen from 2010. And the range of aesthetic purposes on display is at least as impressive.”
